GDM Motors concludes successful NLS season with title win
The 2023 season of the Nürburgring Endurance Series ends with a title win for PROsport Racing. Maxime Dumarey is the champion in the SP9 Pro-Am class.
The “ham race”, the 47th PAGID Racing DMV Münsterlandpokal, brought the 2023 season of the Nürburgring Endurance Series to a close. GDM Motors brought four Aston Martin cars to the start and crowned a successful season in the popular endurance series. Maxime Dumarey finished the race with Marek Böckmann and Mike David Ortmann in ninth position, which is equivalent to second place in the SP9 Pro-Am category. This means that the Belgian can crown himself as the title winner in the class after nine rounds of the season!
Over the course of the season, Dumarey was able to take three class wins with alternating teammates and thus celebrated the title win in the class after the final round of the season. For GDM Motors & PROsport Racing it is also the first title win with the Aston Martin Vantage GT3.
“A huge compliment to Maxime on winning the title,” explained team boss Chris Esser after the race. “He has improved a lot in his two years in GT3, so the title is the reward he deserves. The whole team has also made huge steps with the car, so we have now been able to show the true potential of the car more and more often. The fact that we were able to consistently set sub-8:00 lap times in qualifying this year in the second half of the season is a strong achievement, especially considering where we started the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 project in the NLS last year.
Unfortunately, our second GT3 retired after the collision in the first corner. Especially for Nico Bastian I am infinitely sorry, as he would have very much deserved this chance.”PROsport Racing also had a reason to cheer in the GT4 class: Hugo Sasse, Célia Martin and Fabienne Wohlwend finished the race in third position with their Vantage GT4 after a consistent and faultless performance. Our gentleman squad in the second GT4 was unfortunately unable to finish the last race of the season, but also made great improvements over the 2023 season.
