For the first time, a general podium finish
In the fourth seasonal run of the Nürburgring Endurance Series, GDM and PROsport Racing, for the first time, drove their Aston Martin Vantage GT3 to a podium finish.
The Nürburgring Endurance Series resumed with the 46th RCM DMV Grenzland Race after a pause around the 24-hour race. GDM and PROsport Racing had a successful race, which ended with two podium finishes.
Maxime Dumarey and Mike David Ortmann alternated at the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3. Already in qualifying, the ADAC GT4 Germany champion Ortmann drew attention to the potential for the race day and drove to the third starting position. With a lap time of 7:57.813 minutes, Ortmann drove the first lap time with the vehicle under 8 minutes on the Nürburgring North Loop.
Right from the starting phase, the 23-year-old Ortmann secured the lead with the British GT3 vehicle. During the first stint, the PROsport Racing vehicle led the race, and even during the subsequent stints, the British racing vehicle was on the move in the top group. Eventually, Maxime Dumarey saw the checkered flag in the third position after four hours of racing. Thus, PROsport Racing celebrates its first podium finish with the Vantage GT3 in the Nürburgring Endurance Series. The two pilots also scored a superior class victory in the SP9 Pro-Am class.
"Yesterday we were still discussing whether we would manage to drive a lap time under eight minutes and maybe get into the top 5. Today we are on the podium and with a 7:58.408 minutes in the race, we also achieved the second goal. It couldn't be better," said the overjoyed Maxime Dumarey after the race.
Célia Martin and Guido Dumarey piloted the GT4 Aston Martin in the SP10 class. With a flawless performance, they finished fourth in the strongly occupied class - it's the best season result of the vehicle with the starting number #176 so far in the season.
"After about 1 ½ years of development, we were finally able to show the true potential of our Aston Martin Vantage GT3 on the North Loop!", said Team Manager Christoph Esser after the race. "I'm proud of the entire team for the performance they've shown. This makes me confident for the upcoming races on the Nürburgring North Loop. I also want to give special mention to Célia Martin, who has shown a strong performance in the GT4.
